"Punch Bowl Falls" - Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Oregon

Punch Bowl Falls is one of the most popular hikes in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic area.  The falls lie about 2 miles up the Eagle Creek trail and always present photographers with wonderful creative opportunities.  I have hiked the trail many times, but on this specific trip, in early June of 1990, the conditions were absolutely ideal.  The day was overcast with high white clouds which gave me a very bright, yet filtered light and proved to be ideal for creating a dramatic time exposure of the falls.
