Mono Lake is yet another place in eastern California where you are transported to another world. The strange rock-like bodies protruding from the water are really tufa ("too-faw"), which is created by water from fresh water springs under the lake combining with the high alkaline water. This is one of a series of early morning color and black & white images of  the lake.  The normal picturesque setting was significantly enhanced by the snow-covered mountains and the diffused light from a impending snowstorm. The original photo was taken with a Nikon D1X digital camera. The image was then downloaded and digitally enhanced. The archival "fine art giclee" prints are produced using the  professional-level Epson 7800 Photographic Printer with "ultrachrome K3" ink on Epson's Somerset Velvet paper, creating a soft, matted "painting-like" finish. Signed & numbered limited edition: 8x12 & 12x18, 100 prints each; 16x24, 50 prints each; all others, 25 prints each.
