Screen vs. Print Quality
This is an image of the famous Eureka. An 1875 steam engine No.4, a 4-4-0 from the original Eureka and Palisades RR is now privately owned and runs the rails of the D&SNGRR in Durango, Colorado about once a year. This is a close up portrait of the engine as it sits alone under steam in the station yard at Silverton, Colorado waiting for the return trip to Durango. It was a very chilly morning when I shot this and the steam drifting off the cylinders just adds to the drama of this shot. The image was captured on Kodak VPS color negative film using a Hasselblad camera with a 50mm Distagon lens and converted to B&W. It makes a perfect mate to the other image of this train which you will also find in my gallery.
