Screen vs. Print Quality
Mark produces large format prints from the Epson 7800 using K-3 Ultrachrome inks. These prints are rated at 75 years when displayed under UV glass. His prints exhibit incredible shadow and highlight detail. This is mostly a result of blending multiple exposures of a single scene. Even very dynamic and contrasty scenes are rendered with the entire tonal range of the original moment, much like how our eyes record a scene. This gives the viewer the impression of actually being there. The final print has full and rich detail with vibrant color. The clarity and crispness of his prints are striking. The image files that produce these prints are processed with Adobe Photoshop CS5. Many of his images take hours to produce from the Camera RAW files. His attention to detail results in prints that transport the viewer into the landscape. The realism of his scenic landscapes is extraordinary, yet often possess a painterly quality.
